Here’s a chance for teens to speak their minds and hearts ~ in pictures! Students will play a character design game and collaborate on joint comic strips to start. Then dive into their own personal stories, exploring prompts created in class to spark their imaginations & discover their depths. We’ll cover character design, setting, & plot. Also under-drawing and inking. Students will create a one to 8 page black & white comic / storybook, using the same techniques as the pros!
It's a new class for teens who want to express themselves in a safe, encouraging space that challenges them to go deeper. We’ll focus on storytelling with substance.
It will also offer students the rudimentary basic tools to help them write and draw comics, graphic stories, memoirs, or any other illustrated stories (or games) on their own.
Do you know a teen with a story to tell… who could use some guidance, and peer support?
